An 11-year-old boy boy who is the regional trampoline champion in the Knoxville Tennessee area is practicing on his ground-level Backyard Pro® trampoline. This spring attachment detail compares the spring attachment on a Backyard Pro® trampoline to the spring attachment on a typical lighter duty home trampoline. The right side of the comparison shows a lighter duty construction typical of most other home trampolines whereby there are holes punched around the frame perimeter and the spring hook is inserted into the hole. This allows water to enter the tubing through the holes raising the likelihood that the tubing will eventually rust from the inside out. The number of springs that can be attached is limited to the number of holes drilled around the perimeter frame thus making it impossible to fine tune the bounce by adding extra springs. At the left side, the Backyard Pro® spring attachment uses a 3/8 inch diameter solid steel bar spot welded to the inner perimeter of the frame and offset outward about 1/2 inch. The springs attach to the frame by hooking them over this bar. The bar can accommodate virtually as many springs as one might wish allowing one to fine tune the performance and bounce by adding extra springs if desired. There are no holes in the frame thereby sealing it off from likely water entrance to the inside of tubing.

As shown in the photos directly above, the Backyard Pro Trampoline uses spring anchor bars instead of holes to attach the spring to the frame thereby achieving a stronger frame, longer spring life, and a safer and much improved livelier and higher bounce with better control & safer landings. This is also important for outside use--especially at ground level. Water enters these spring holes and the frame begins to rust from the inside out. Over time this weakens the frame rendering it unusable and unsafe. With the Backyard Pro Trampoline, the frame has no holes and is sealed from any water entrance.
